Marylin Avenue STEAM Academy Welcomes Community to Tour Newly Renovated Campus

September 5, 2025 - Livermore, CA - The Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District (LVJUSD) invites members of the Livermore community to view the newly completed facilities improvements at Marylin Avenue STEAM Academy’s Community Open House on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. at 800 Marylin Avenue. Site and district staff will be available to connect with community members and answer questions as attendees take self-guided tours of the campus.

The open house celebrates $25M in campus improvements including new and renovated classrooms, STEAM labs, research center, and library in support of Marylin’s thriving STEAM magnet program. In addition, a new parking lot and drop-off area, field renovation, futsal courts, and TK playground provide welcoming, safe, and engaging spaces for students, staff, and families.

“We look forward to welcoming the community to our campus,” expressed Principal Joe Meunier. “These investments are making our STEAM magnet program stronger, our campus safer, and bolstering the sense of pride our students and staff have in the school they learn and work in every day.”

The Marylin project was made possible through state bond funding that reimbursed LVJUSD for work originally financed by the community’s Measure J Bond, passed nearly a decade ago in 2016. “This project is a perfect example of how we were able to extend the impact of local investment by acquiring state money to improve our schools for our students and community,” shared Superintendent Torie Gibson.

With the completion of the Marylin project, LVJUSD has now finished its final major facilities improvements supported by state funding tied to Measure J. Accessing additional state funds and continuing districtwide facility improvements will require the pursuit of a new bond with support from the community.
