SPARC Theater’s Shakespeare’s Birthday Party: A Night of Music, Celebration, and Support for Local Theater
LIVERMORE, CA — SPARC Theater will host its annual Shakespeare’s Birthday Party on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at 3 Steves Winery in Livermore, offering an evening filled with live music, great food, and exciting fundraising activities to benefit the nonprofit organization. The event, which runs from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, will raise funds to support SPARC’s education programs and provide fair compensation for the teaching artists, artists, and hard-working staff who make these programs possible.
One of the evening’s key attractions will be a live performance by Wolf Hamlin & the Front Porch Drifters. Known for their blend of country, blues, and rock, the band is a local favorite, with powerhouse performances that consistently draw crowds. Wolf Hamlin, a familiar face to fans of American Idol, and his bandmates bring high-energy performances, soulful melodies, and toe-tapping rhythms, making them a perfect fit for this lively celebration. The performance is generously sponsored by Beth Trutner and Jim Hartman.
In addition to the live music, guests will enjoy food from local vendors, including HP Taco Truck and Chef Hits the Streets. There will also be several fundraising activities throughout the evening, such as a wine pull, raffle, dessert auction, and a fund-a-need appeal, all aimed at supporting the critical work of SPARC Theater in the community.
Funds raised from the event will support two vital initiatives. First, they will ensure the continued success of SPARC’s educational programs, such as So Wise So Young, which reaches every second grader in the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District. These programs help foster creativity and critical thinking skills in young students. Second, the funds will support the dedicated individuals who make these programs possible—teachers, artists, and staff who pour their energy into bringing high-quality, accessible theater to our community.
As a nonprofit, SPARC Theater is committed to paying its employees fairly. On a three-year average, 86.5% of SPARC’s revenue goes toward payroll and payroll expenses, highlighting the organization’s commitment to sustaining local jobs and supporting the local workforce. By attending this event, guests are not only helping to nurture the next generation of artists but also investing in the creative professionals who drive SPARC’s mission.
Tickets for the event start at $100 and include a wine voucher and raffle ticket. VIP seating is available in limited supply.
